-—————

This is an Islamic artwork. It features Arabic Naskh script which reads: Ar-Rahman primarily means: The Most Merciful / Kind. Other meanings include: The Beneficent, All-Compassionate, and Most Gracious.

Well known as the first and one of the names of God in Islam, it is also the title of the 55th Chapter of the Quran: Surah Ar-Rahman, made up of 78 verses.

In white, the script is composed in a roundel filled with foliate ornaments in Chinese red ink. The background is made of structural strips in subtle shades of black.
