(The Rhombic Dot of Letters)
-—————
This artwork features a large formation of rhombic dot which is filled with anatomic structures of basic Arabic Thuluth letters. These letters includes smaller rhombic dots used as measuring units in constructing classical Arabic calligraphy.
The significance of these rhombic dots are also used as visual markings or diacritical marks to signify the phonetic identity and to indicate the value of a particular letterform, which became the writing convention of modern Arabic.
